Post-Buckling surface of the finite spatial elastica
(for clamped end conditions)
Now that the length is finite, the set of all configurations of a filament subject to torsion and tension is a 2D manifold (here the filament is considered with symetrical cross section). This post-buckling surface does not depend on the torsional nor the bending stiffness nor on the length. The problem can be reduce to a set of 4 parameters a q c t
- The wrench is not generally aligned with the rig.
- The surface divided by slices of constant t.
- How close to the homoclinic trajectory (a constant end rotation path on the post-buckling surface).
- DT loading diagrams : stability for constant end rotation experiment
- Part of the post-buckling surface as a stability diagram
- The post-buckling surface in the General Representation Space.
- The register symmetry and the breaking of it : selection of 4 solutions among the continuous family.
