Workshop
"
Modelling the Flood Peril"
May 30-31 2016, Paris, France

Scientific organisation:
José-Maria Fullana, Christophe Josserand, Geoffroy Kirstetter, Pierre-Yves Lagrée, Stéphane Popinet (Institut Jean Le Rond D'Alembert, IJLRA, Paris).
The goal of this workshop is to gather scientists from different origins working on the modeling of the flood peril (see here an exemple of a numerical simulation performed in our laboratory). Physicist, mathematicians, hydrologist, professional experts will present (in english) their recent research works to the audience.
The workshop is supported by the University Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris 6), Sorbonne University, the Institut Jean Le Rond D'Alembert IJLRA and the AXA Research Fund through the JRI Grant "Modelling the Flood Peril".
Program: the conference will start on monday, May 30th 2016 after lunch and will last until tuesday, May 31st around 5pm. The detailed program can be found here.
Location: the workshop will be located in the central tower of the University Pierre and Marie Curie, 5 place Jussieu, 75005 Paris (Metro station is Jussieu), at the 24th floor. Due to security constraints, only registered participants will be allowed to enter the central tower.
Registration is free but mandatory, for security and organozation reasons but also due to the size of the conference room. If you are interested, please send an email to christophe.josserand-at-upmc.fr
Social event: a cocktail will be organised on monday after the workshop, at the same place.
